How To Configure SSL VPN Users With AD Authentication

Here in this article we will discuss how to authenticate SSL VPN remote access users with active directory.

First we need to integrate active directory with sophos XG firewall. You can use this following article for configuring active directory in sophos XG firewall.

Once you integrate active directory with sophos XG firewall, we need to configure SSL VPN policy in sophos XG firewall. You can use following article for the same:

Once we have integrated active directory with sophos XG firewall and configured SSL VPN policy, we need to keep active directory as authentication mechanism for SSL VPN users. Now we will understand how to keep active directory as authentication mechanism for SSL VPN users.

Login to sophos XG firewall and click on “Authentication” menu and then click on “services” tab as shown in below image

Scroll down till you see “SSL VPN authentication menu” as shown in below image and chose option “set authentication method for SSL VPN” and select “active directory server” as shown in below image.

Note: If there are multiple servers in the columnĀ Selected authentication server, select and drag the LDAP server to the top so that it is the server that is always checked first

Click on Apply.

Once you perform all the above steps, SSL VPN users will be authenticated with active directory.
