Live Connections documentation in sophos XG firewall

Overview:

Here in this article we will discuss how to see live connections traffic in sophos XG firewall.

Process:

We can see the connection details of IPv4 traffic by the application, username and source IP address as shown in below image

We can see the data transferred from the time of connection was established, live data transfer, the number of connections and traffic details.

The bandwidth used by an application is calculated by dividing the total number of bytes transferred by the time period.

The following information is shown in the live connections table:

Application: Shows the name of the applications currently connected.

Source IP address: It shows the source IP address

User: It shows the user name of currently connected user.

Upload transfer: It shows the total amount of data uploaded in bytes, since the connection was established.

Download transfer: It shows the total amount of data downloaded in bytes, since the connection was established.

Upstream bandwidth: It shows the total upstream bandwidth used in bytes since the connection was established.

Downstream bandwidth: It shows the total downstream bandwidth used in bytes since the connection was established.

Characteristics: Show the application details such as application category and usage.

To see the number of live connections, see live connections at the upper left of the section

To view the live connection details, select application, username or source IP address as filter from the drop down menu as shown in the above image.
